World Ski + Snowboard Festival
Whistler Festival Photography
The World Ski + Snowboard Festival is one of the largest ski and snowboard festivals in North America, drawing athletes, artists, musicians, and outdoor culture enthusiasts to Whistler every spring.
The Project
I provided full-event photography coverage for the World Ski + Snowboard Festival, capturing the great energy, culture, and community that make WSSF a standout celebration on the Whistler calendar. With years of experience capturing events across BC, the focus throughout was on candid moments and authentic atmosphere. Real interactions, real emotion, and real people rather than anything posed or polished.
Deliverables
The deliverables included a minimum of 200 edited, high-resolution selects with web-optimized exports alongside each file. A curated set of 20 to 30 hero shots was also produced for press and sponsor use. Daily selects were turned around with ease at the end of each shoot day to support real-time social media coverage, giving the festival great online energy throughout the week.
On the Ground
Coverage spanned the full week of the festival, from competition stages and live musical performances to candid photography of street culture moments, attendees, and crowd scenes. Each day brought something different, and the passion behind this work is the ability to connect with people and document what the experience actually feels like. The mountains, the light, and the location all play a part in telling the story.
Turnaround and Use
The full edited gallery was delivered within one week of the final event day. The collection is built to serve a range of uses, from social media and media distribution to sponsor reporting, grant applications, and future festival marketing.
What This Kind of Work Requires
The WSSF project is a good example of what we do best: showing up every day of the week with passion, staying adaptable on site, and coming back with images the client can actually use. We are grateful for the opportunity to work in this community and to tell the stories of the people and moments that make events like this worth remembering.
Whether you are planning a festival, multi-day event, or large-scale gathering in Whistler or across BC, or simply need a photographer to capture guests, celebrate a moment, and document an adventure that people will remember for a lifetime, we would be glad to talk through what that looks like.
