A full day of professional golf tournament photography on a Whistler golf course, covering everything from early morning setup through to the awards ceremony that evening. The Scope
I provided complete solo coverage of a Whistler golf tournament, an 11-hour day that ran from pre-tournament prep right through to the awards presentation. One photographer, one full day, every part of the event covered.
Golf tournaments move differently than many events. The morning starts slow, play spreads across the course for hours, then the energy shifts as everyone gathers again for the awards. Being the only photographer on site for that whole arc means staying ahead of the day rather than reacting to it, and knowing which moments matter before they happen.
Coverage included the setup and preparation, golfers in action out on the course, sponsor branding and activations, volunteers doing the work that keeps a tournament running, candid moments of guests enjoying the day, and the awards ceremony to close things out.
Deliverables
This is where the live editing comes in. Between the end of play and the dinner that same evening, I delivered 12 finished, polished photos so the organizers had something ready to share with guests in the room and post online while the day was still fresh. No waiting until the following week to thank sponsors and volunteers.
The full edited gallery followed within a week, giving organizers a complete photo library to draw from: group photos of teams and participants, sponsor shots for reporting back to partners, volunteer photos for thank-yous, and guest moments for sharing the experience with the wider community.
