Web Summit Vancouver Event Photographer
Web Summit Vancouver brought thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, media and tech leaders from more than 100 countries to the Vancouver Convention Centre for four days of keynotes, mentorship and networking centred on the future of technology.
The Scope
As a Vancouver event photographer, I provided professional, full-event photography coverage of Web Summit Vancouver 2026, held May 11 to 14 at the Vancouver Convention Centre, intending to capture the scale, energy and detail of one of the largest tech gatherings to come to the city.
The approach was candid and fast-paced throughout. With thousands of attendees from over 100 countries and programming spanning agentic AI, sovereign AI, clean tech, robotics and quantum, no two hours of the summit looked the same. Coverage reached beyond the keynote stages to masterclasses, mentor hours, and the evening Night Summit at the Bentall Centre.
The goal of every shoot is to capture the event's essence: the crowd's scale, the focus in the room during a keynote, and the candid moments of interaction on the show floor that matter most.
Deliverables
Coverage spanned keynote sessions, sponsor activations, volunteer teams, and the overall crowd atmosphere across all four days of the summit at the VCC, one of the city's premier venues for an event of this scale.
Speed was central to the brief. Working alongside the organizers' on-site team, we sent photos directly to organizers as the event happened, so images from a keynote were in their hands before the speaker left the stage. I photographed sponsor partners and volunteer teams throughout each day to round out the gallery, delivering exceptional coverage without slowing down the event's pace.

On the Ground
Photographing events at the scale of Web Summit means staying flexible, reading the room, and adapting as the day unfolds. One moment it is a packed keynote stage, the next it is a quiet conversation between a founder and an investor on the show floor. My job is being in the right place and ready, without disrupting the moment.
Part of professionalism in this kind of environment is making sure attendees feel comfortable and unaware of the camera, so the photos reflect how the day actually felt rather than how it was posed. Finding the right angles and reading the lighting in a venue this size, while keeping that balance between coverage and presence, is what makes the images feel authentic, because they are.
My passion for this kind of work comes from a real connection to British Columbia, and to the people and organizations that bring major events like this to the province.
Turnaround and Use
We delivered event photos to organizers in real time throughout the event, with select images reaching the team while speakers were still on stage. We delivered the full edited gallery once the summit wrapped.
These photos are built to work across a range of uses, including the organizer's own marketing and social channels, sponsor reporting deliverables, and media distribution, creating memories our clients can use well beyond the event itself. Every file is exported at full resolution, with web-optimized versions included.
